I’ve ventured into Mexico no further than the northern part of Baja California–the madness of Tijuana, the funky fishing village of Ensenada, and the inland border town of Tecate. All of this was in 1985 when I was stationed in San Diego with the Navy. I went to Tecate, probably famous for its beer, for the running of the bulls. Who knew there was such a thing going on right on the US-Mexico border? I’ve got plenty pictures hidden away I can post. Apparently, the running of the bulls was canceled in 1990 due to too many drunken Americans.
I am dying to get to Mexico City, Mexico’s cosmopolitan capital and the largest city in North America. A lot of people who know me know that I don’t love Mexican food, but that’s sure not to be a problem in Mexico City, where there are so many options being offered. Cultivated Mexico City is said to have more museums than any other city in the world. And not far from the capital is the cultural heritage city of Puebla. I am so there!
