Best View

San Francisco is known for its beauty. And there’s nothing like a pretty view.

Best at Making Me Feel Like I’m Back in Europe

And with COVID going on, I’m definitely missing Europe.

Most European: The Legion of Honor. (Day 3)

This one should be obvious. Or should it? Actually, not at all!

Best Secrets and Hidden Treasures

San Francisco is just loaded with these. Just like last time, they’re in chronological order.

I’m sorry but the *Wave Organ* is just damn whacky. (Day 6)

Biggest Tourist Traps

Again, just maybe a little disrespectful this time around.

Biggest Tourist Trap: The Painted Ladies of Alamo Square. Okay, there’s nothing wrong at all with the Painted Ladies. I just think it’s weird that so many people come to see them because they were in the opening credits of *Full House*! (Day 5)

Similarly, there’s nothing wrong with the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. But there’s no denying it’s a tourist trap! (Day 7)

Best Breakfast

Runner-Up: Brainwash, now closed. It took a year to finally get here because the kitchen wasn’t open yet when I tried to go in 2016. (Day 4)

Honorable Mention: Arlequin Café, now closed. The al fresco courtyard dining was definitely a nice touch. (Day 5)

Best Lunch

Runner-Up: Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen at the Contemporary Jewish Museum. (Day 4)

Honorable Mention: Café at the Asian Art Museum. (Day 5)

Best Dinner

Runner-Up: Cliff House, now closed. (Day 3)

Honorable Mention: The Monk’s Kettle. (Day 4)

Honorable Mention: SOMA StrEat Food Park. (Day 7)

Honorable Mention: Beach Chalet. (Day 1)

Best Snack

Runner-Up: Philz Coffee, for chocolate croissant, of course! (Day 7)

Honorable Mention: Goody Café at Fort Mason. (Day 6)

Best Ice Cream

Best Ice Cream: Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous. Happy hipster ice cream. (Day 7)

Runner-Up: Xanath Ice Cream. All sorts of vanilla! (Day 4)

Honorable Mention: The Ice Cream Bar. I didn’t want to like it because they only serve waffle cones. And waffle cones are just for tourists. But you can’t deny good ice cream. (Day 2)

Honorable Mention: Over the Moon. Now we know why the cow jumped over the moon. For delicious ice cream! (Day 2)

Honorable Mention: Smitten. I didn’t care for the gimmickry of Smitten. But I can’t deny that the ice cream tasted good. (Day 5)

And now that the search for San Francisco’s best ice cream is over, what’s the verdict? There’s no doubt. I have to go back to 2016’s Humphrey Slocombe for the crème de la crème.
