For breakfast, I went to a place called Mimosas. With a name like that, I figured it would have a very ’80s feel. But it had more of a Mexican vibe. I stuck with all-American fare, and got a big fat breakfast. I couldn’t resist the Berry Berry French Toast–French toast topped with blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries with whipped cream and raspberry sauce. And it looks like I got a side of my standard chicken apple sausage. That held me over for a while.
It was only about a 1/2 hour walk from Robert J. Cabral Station to San Joaquin Street Station. But it was a swelteringly hot walk through a not very nice part of Stockton. Very industrial. And very low-end residential. I was determined to find someplace to eat. It was definitely a food desert. So I was relieved to find a fast food place along the way. I ordered chicken tenders and fries. Yum! I ate them at 1 of the picnic tables out front, with the unforgiving sun beating down on me.
No, it was not a day of healthy eating. But I was on an adventure!
