Francisco and I had breakfast at the Pier 39 outlet of Boudin Bakery. Boudin has been around since Gold Rush times and is famous for its sourdough bread. Breakfast was terrible (not unexpected for Pier 39 dining). I had sourdough French toast with cinnamon, sugar, whipper butter, and syrup served with season fruit. The French toast tasted reheated. I got a chocolate croissant because it really good in the case. With tax and tip, it cost $5 and it was lousy.

San Francisco 2016 Food Diary, Day 5
After Francisco and I rode the bus across San Francisco to the Richmond District, our first stop was the popular Blue Danube Coffee Shop for a yummy breakfast. I had French toast–brioche, cream cheese, caramelized apples, and berries. I washed it all down with a strawberry bliss smoothie–strawberries, bananas, and OJ. Like I said, yummy.
