I was so surprised the night before by how good the food was at the restaurant at the hotel in restaurant. The good food kept coming throughout Day 11. I had a fantastic breakfast back at the hotel restaurant in the morning. Just look at what I got from the buffet! I had bread & butter, sauteed vegetables, stuffed parantha (fried flatbread), aloo bonda (potato fritters), masala poha (spiced rice), and vermicelli upma (spiced noodle breakfast dish). Sounds good, doesn’t it!
Then I went back for some yummy pancakes.
After my day out in Haridwar, I stopped by the surprisingly terrific hotel restaurant one last time for a delicious lassi.
After checking into my hotel back in Delhi later that night, I had more good food at the restaurant there. Naturally I got some Indian flatbread.
Next up was murgh reshmi tikka–boneless chicken chunks marinated with cream cheese, beans & dry masala and cooked in the clay-oven–with some steamed rice. (Yes, now that I was out of Rishikesh and Haridwar, I could eat meat again!)
And best of all, I finished it off with Parsi Dairy kulfi–Indian ice cream from a well known dairy in Mumbai.
What a great day of (non-curry) Indian cuisine!!!
