I was so surprised the night before by how good the food was at the restaurant at the hotel in restaurant. The good food kept coming throughout Day 11. I had a fantastic breakfast back at the hotel restaurant in the morning. Just look at what I got from the buffet! I had bread & butter, sauteed vegetables, stuffed parantha (fried flatbread), aloo bonda (potato fritters), masala poha (spiced rice), and vermicelli upma (spiced noodle breakfast dish). Sounds good, doesn’t it!

Haridwar
I was only supposed to pass through Haridwar, but India had other plans for me. Although I was disappointed I didn’t get to see the Golden Temple in Amritsar or the fun border ceremony at the [Read more…]
India 2017 Food Diary, Day 10, Part 2
Having wrapped up my sightseeing in Rishikesh, it was time for a snack at the fabulous Ganga Kinare hotel before heading to my next destination. (Of course, I never made it to my next destination.) India 2017 Food Diary, Day 10, Part 1
I never break the Food Diary into parts. But I think Day 10 is my only India post broken up into parts. And my Day 10 dining could easily be broken into parts matching the parts of the day. You’ll see. So…
I skipped breakfast in the morning because I got a late start to the day and I needed to make up lost time after my delayed arrival in Rishikesh on Day 9.
It took me a while to find my lunch spot, and I was thrilled to finally arrive at The 60s Cafe, also known as Beatles Cafe. Rishikesh is where the Beatles came in 1968 to get all spiritual. This fun restaurant pays tribute to their visit and the spirit of the 60s. It has beautiful views of the Ganges too.
